ITS Part-Time Prospectus

Whether you are an employee in the tourism industry and would like to earn your qualifications, or looking for a change in career or whether you are looking for a new exciting challenge, the Institute of Tourism Studies is offering you the opportunity to become a certified tourism professional through its part-time programmes.

In the Tourism and Hospitality industry people are the most important asset. We are well-aware how business organisations place a great deal of emphasis on recruitment in order to build a rich talent base. It is therefore imperative that we all take every opportunity to further our training and get qualified. At the Institute of Tourism Studies we believe in developing today's as much as tomorrow's tourism professional.

Through our study programmes, we are glad to offer the opportunity for everybody to become qualified. Our short courses and part-time programmes are ideally suited to people who already work in the industry and wish to advance their careers, broaden their knowledge and skillset, or attain formal qualifications to complement their work experiences.

We also cater for individuals who wish to change or start a new career in the toursim industry but are already working and therefore do not have the possibility of studying full-time at ITS.

The 2015-2016 prospectus for this year’s part-time study and training programmes has been structured under two main categories:

PART 1: Evening Short Courses

A wide range of part-time, evening courses aimed at meeting the specific needs of the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. These cover varied topics from Food Hygiene to Food and Beverage theory and practice, room operations, sustainable and green tourism and many others. (Download Prospectus)

PART 2: Modular Part-Time Studies

The second category of part-time courses offered this year covers the full spectrum of our full-time study programmes. Thus, ALL study modules available in the full-time programme will this year also run on part-time basis and applicants may choose to join morning or evening classes. Moreover, because of the modular and cumulative structure of our programmes, participants will be able to study toward a formal, internationally recognised qualification (certificate, diploma or higher diploma) on a part-time basis. This is ideal for persons who wish to advance their careers and attain formal qualifications while retaining their current employment. (Download Prospectus)
