Alternative assessment for practicals for Institute of Tourism Studies Certificate, Diploma and Higher National Diploma level students in view of the current situation due to covid-19.
As you are well aware, ITS for the time being cannot use its campus and therefore this means that the practical sessions that you are entitled for cannot be carried out.
While ITS encourages you to practice as much as is possible while at home, the Institute is formulating a plan to help you recover the lost ground. If all goes well and normality is restored by summer we are planning to organise a recovery course for you in which you will have a number of practical sessions starting as of the 1st of September up till before the start of the proper academic year, which this year will start on the 5th of October 2020.
Due to the anomalous situation there will not be any examinations for practical modules this year on a one time measure only. Instead you will be assessed on the coursework you have accumulated so far as well as on the sessions that you will be having in September. Therefore attendance to these sessions, if and when they occur, will be of course compulsory and will be conducive to your assessment mark.
More information on the timetable of these sessions will be made available closer to September. In the meantime it is imperative that you make sure that as from 1st September you make yourself available for these recovery sessions.
